The term MANMADE simply refers to all ARTIFICIAL surfaces used for flooring, walls and countertops
- QUARTZ SURFACES / DIGITAL PRINTING ON QUARTZ
Quartz surfaces areĀ new age engineered materials and are actually created through a manufacturing process that mixes approximately 90 percent ground natural quartz with a balance of polymer resins. New technology employed nowadays is DIGITAL PRINTING ON QUARTZ. With this technology, an Ultra HD photo of any natural stone can be printed on the surface of the quartz slab. QUARTZ SURFACES ARE NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE
- CERAMIC AND PORCELAIN SURFACES
Ceramic and Porcelain are manmade materials with, almost, no variation in color or shade for the same lots!
- Ceramics
- Are made with clay, minerals and water These products are then fired and glazed because the ceramic is porous. This is where the color and look comes from
- When coated with a glaze of grade III or higher, they are extremely resistant to scratching
- Easier to install than porcelain
- Porcelain
- Are made up of a sand like material. These products are then formed with pressure and heat. Thus, It becomes more dense and absorbs less water than ceramic
- Because of the moisture absorption rate, porcelain can be installed outside where ceramic cannot
- Stronger than ceramic
- Through body colored porcelain tiles will not have to be replaced if chipped because color is same throughout.
- Flooring requires special tools to install
- Countertops are more difficult to manufacture
- Both Ceramic and Porcelain are
- Long lasting
- Durable
- Easy to clean
